Consumers never lose out?!...I got a frown for free!!

Got lazy of typing and thus another hiatus in my blog.

The year is coming to an end and I am still contemplating if I should continue tutoring my students. Most probably I will since I hate to give up commitments half-way.

Anyway,I went scouting for a pair of shoes today. After several bouts of "retail therapy", all I need for the new year and CNY will be new shoes. I thought of being cheapskate and just get some form of material to cover my soles. I even considered Bata, which I may patronise eventually. However many people have been bringing me around shoe-shopping. Going to take a look at Geox shoes with Justin tml.

Just went to Queensway today. As usual, brand-names turn me off since I never believed in paying so much just to see a tick on my apparel (Nike), or three strips like some scratch from a stray (Adidas), or the silhouette of a cat jumping on my shoe (Puma). There are many other brand-names which I enjoy mocking but I will spare them for now.

I must admit I saw a pair of Nike shoes that I fancied today. Cost $103.95 but the lowest they can offer is $88. Its the trend Queensway-wide. Apparently, according to the sales personnel, its a market price they cannot slash any further. A 15% discount is the most they can give, which was $88.

I tried the pair I mentioned but decided not to get it since it did not look that fantastic after all. The saleswoman even questioned me as to why I did not want it despite the offer to give me a discount. Hello! Consumer sovereignty does not entail interrogation, bitch....
I just threw a random reason that I was considering other pairs elsewhere and left. Just to make an impression, she gave me a pissed off look. And to think she was all jovial when I enquired the price and tried on the shoes. Haven't you experienced disappointment before from customers??

Some Singaporean salesperson can really be insatisfactory at times. Many a time, when I do not need service, they cling on to me like a leech. Other times when I need help, they are nowhere in sight. And now a bitch who shows me how much her mouth can twist when she frowns. As Justin mentioned, the European sales personnel are so much better than SG ones. Same goes for Japan. Why cant we just learn from them? No wonder I shun the sales job offerings.

Just a wilful wish. How I wish Santa's elves can drop me a free pair of shoes now.

  • Hey.. what a great entry filled with angst and sarcasm! Haha.. really ironic but cool title to begin with.. hmm.. personally I don't go for brands too.. as long as it's durable yet fashionable, I don't think it needs to be a branded label. Haha.. really like how you diminished the brands and gave them a rather ghastly descriptions. Rather creative dude. Haha.. and that sorta salesperson is just abundant la. Singapore really has more to work on. So much of going on the extra mile eh? Actually, being a sales promoter before I had disappointments too, but I'm definitely not that kind who will suddenly change my expression. It's too drama! She ought to go for some "retail therapy". In this case, it's another side of "therapy". Lol.
