Eragon
Forgot to post this.
I watched Eragon with my platoon mates that day during our platoon outing. Quite a pity that not all of them attended.
Anyway, "Eragon" is an okay movie. If I feel stingy, I may not watch it on a weekend. Apparently the storyline was written by a 16 year old kid. And its a sequel. Wow! Despite the lack of a twist and sophistication in the plot, its rather excellent for a 16 year old's standard. At least his creative juices are still brimming and boiling. Im impressed and happy to know that there are such young (scriptwriters?) out there.
I think the trailer is sufficient in spelling out the entire storyline. The graphical image of the dragon (I did not expect the dragon to be a female) has human-like eyes, according to the papers. The purpose of this is supposedly to characterise it into a more inspirational and engaging character. Kudos to their endeavour; it adds to the eye candy. In addition, "Eragon"
is a potpourri of magic and action. As the newspapers put it, "put in Harry Potter's magic, LOTR's war scenes and a dragon, you get Eragon". (I paraphrased the quote because my memory failed me) Quite an interesting truth to know.
Despite the predictable storyline, I am waiting for the second part of the sequel. More characterisation is needed to make the supporting characters round and vivid. I hope the second part will show improvement. Overall I will give it 6.5 out of 10. Maybe a 7 if I knew it was written by a 16 year old before I watched it. We need more young artists around to resurrect and flourish whatever art we have left in this cold, material world.

Wow you're generous. Unfortunately Eragon has been highly criticized and it rates lower than Nativity Story in review sites X_X (in the red at about 2/10)
P.S. Eragon is not a 'sequel', it's a trilogy.

Maybe I was biased to the child writing. Thus more points given...
Somehow I do not like to believe ratings. After all everyone watch movies with different expectations.
Maybe mine was lower for that show.
