I think he thinks that I think that Im too good for myself
Im trying to sound as rational and not bitchy as I am now. Otherwise this entry will not end for a v long time..
I have never felt so stressed before and never ever ever before have I felt so much worse than a low-life.. He said it before and he said it again "I really wonder how u passed yr final theory test..."
This time with an add-on. "U are so hard to teach! U do not listen to my instructions...... I think u shld find another instr. Ok never mind, u are still gonna learn driving, I shant say more."
All this just came when I questioned him if I can overtake a car and a lorry. Cos the lorry was going so slow, the car behind it ended up slow as well. Since there's the choice of overtaking, why not. Yet he did not allow it. I asked y, he told me to (follow the car in front. If it stops or slows, so do u. Keep to yr lane).
Ok point taken I knew (and still know) that I should stay in my lane. But thats during jams. There does not seem to be a jam now since the rite lane is going so well. My brain tells me that its the lorry's problem thus I should avoid it.
Someone correct me if Im wrong please.
This was the breaking point that led to such frank insults from him. I have certain bad habits, like occasionally holding the wheel too tight. This problem still surfaces sometimes but I can safely say its less frequent. Also I tend not to put my gear to gear 1 when I stop. Thats a bad habit which refuses to be vanquished but I will try to change. Its probably these two points, coupled with the above incident that made him diminish me to an imbecile who appears smart.
I know I like to drive above 40 and tt probably makes him irritated. I ask qns because I wanna confirm things thus the many "whys". However I dun think I am questioning his authority. Even so, he is not using the rite method to teach. Not one that I approve at least. Its pretty demoralising.
Revelation: I should stop speeding, stop thinking of new techniques to beat the traffic, and probably not ask questions. Reticence prevails
One other sweeping statement that I quote from him "Teachers and principals are the hardest to teach cos they always think they are right and argue with me" Im not angry at him but I do not seem to be able to refute his statement just yet
Someone should go to NIE here.
Much as I hate to hold my piece, I think for the sake of my future driving lessons, I gotta do something that I do not like. Moreover I never did like driving and I was more or less forced to learn it. No harm adding one more to the list

I see. I think the trick to getting through driving lessons is to drive like a retard - i.e., drive super safely. I hardly ever overtake or switch lanes (okay, mostly it's 'cause I don't dare but yeah hahahahaha) unless there's like some random car parked by the road or something. I mean, common sense says if there's space to your right and the cars in front of you are super slow, you should just switch over to the right, overtake the cars, and then switch back again, but for some reason instructors don't like that. And people DO fail their driving tests due entirely to recklessness, or what the traffic police and the driving instructors term 'recklessness'.
It sucks but just do what your instructor says lah.
And don't ask too many questions. Really. I imagine it gets irritating after a while, hence his bad attitude. I'm not saying it's completely your fault but just to get him off your back, try not to ask really obvious questions, maybe? I DO think you have a slight tendency to ask too many questions, so...yeah. Haha. No offence intended.
But yes, I still think he's an ass. He's a mean pok. He should be more patient.
Oh and it's very important to shift to gear one when stopping/moving off! Anyway, don't lose heart, don't let him discourage you, just complete the thing! =) Cheers!
(PS. My blog always loads the most recent entry on my laptop so I think it's your computer. Haha.)

Ya I agree on the drive like a retard thing. Im gonna start being one.
I think its mostly my own doing so Im gonna undergo a revamp and see how things go. Hope that this revamp, if useful, will stay permanenet till I pass and not just be a transient remedy.
I know the imptance of the gear one thing, its just a bad habit thats hard to purge.
I found a nest of Trojans in my com recently and somehow my firewall was off. Probably thats the reason for the belated entries.
Im not really sure wats up with yr assignment, but treat it like homework. Do a bit, slack A BIT. A bit here does not refer to hours of blogging or watever. I still maintain my stand that optimistic perseverance pays off.

Hey Simon, don't fret. Some instructors are just crap la. In fact, some instructors themselves differ from their teachings. So you might get pretty confused. But you should have your own judgement, which in a way, I see that you have, which is good.
However, you have to understand that there are strict and rigid rules to follow. Like keeping to the left of the lane, ALWAYS. I know it's stupid, but that's what most instructors expect you to do. UNLESS, you think the vehicle in front is causing an obstruction, like hogging the lane, you can voice out and tell the instructor about it. You have to remember, the speed of your vehicle can't be too slow too. So if the vehicle in front of you is slow, you are slow too, and you will be considered hogging the road, which is not a good practice, and may be marked down during the real test. So, if you think you're right, just voice out to the instructor. It's not worth your anger over some mean instructors sometimes la.
Well, if you have to come to a last resort, you could just tell him that his life is in your hands. Haha, of course that was meant to be a joke.
Good luck on your driving! :)
