Last day of freedom (movies). Banished to work....

Today's the last of my freedom. Actually freedom to me means doing something that I want. Even though its not entirely freedom in this case, at least im "paid" for it..

Anyway I watched three movies in a span of these two days. Letters of Iwo Jima, Ghost Rider and The Protege. Ghost Rider is a show worth watching if one is expecting SHEER entertainment and CGI. Guess I need not comment much. Letters was WAY better than Flags of Our Fathers. Its a mirror image of FooF. A wonderful mega literary technique ie two extremely diff narrative perspectives. FooF was in the view pt of the Americans and Letters, the Japanese. Worth watching both as a war flick and an emotional moment of poignance, since its pretty even in both elements.

The Protege has two intentions fr my interpretation. One. Avoid drugs with yr life before u have none left. Two. Emptiness in a person is totally horrible and can make ppl do the weirdest, silliest things ie taking drugs in this case. Its insightful in the sense that we got to see how the drug syndicates operate, (modus operandi?) assuming that was a truthful picture.

I will judge The Protege as the best of the lot. Letters trailing a very close second and Ghost Rider last. I much prefer shows with meaning in them. Much as Letters was more nuanced, I dun really know why it did not rank first in me. Maybe its my bias towards Asian films. Nonetheless it was a moving movie bonanza this yr, probably to compensate for the dearth of movies in the past mths.

CNY passed too fast. Given the hectic me, what happened in the past four days seem to only occupy like 2 days of my life. Its back to more shit at work, where more is indefinitely infinite. The "battles of Iwo Jima" at work are growing by the day and I envisage dampened morale in future. And I have only endured nearly a mth.. Pretty scary that I have around 4 MORE mths to go.
