Job-hunting progress.
It seems like forever... Gone to two agents and none of them replied me. Thus I decide to give the papers another chance, lower my pay expectations and cast my net wider in other industries.
Went for numerous interviews with ZQ today because we decided to go to International Plaza; The haven of job agencies. Eventually, we decided to pay some companies we found in the papers a visit. After all, since our agents cant give us a position, and Im so du lan waiting, its time I got off my lazy ass and start carving my own temporary career. Why must I do everything myself?
We went to a company in Chinatown Pt first. (I shall not undermine the firms by quoting names)
The hourly pay was like $4.50 per hour. Much as I am desperate for a job, I doubt this is fitting for me. The workplace is in Clarke Quay and I have to sell tickets in a claustrophobic booth. NAH...
Then we went to Paradiz and apparently, its a multi-level marketing biz. Irritating.... I was about to leave when I observed the telltale signs. Luckily the interview only wasted ten minutes of my time. Anymore and I will just demand release.
Somewhere around mid-day, one of my agents telephoned me and asked if I could do a one-day assignment tomorrow, with a friend. I recommended ZQ. It is to be a participant of an evacuation exercise at some shipyard. Wear a lifejacket and follow the guides. Sounds like a funny farcical job, but looking at $30 for 4 hours with transport, I think it will have to do for now. However I do not expect myself to wear lifejackets pretending to be evacuated in a shipyard for 4mths. Just give me a fucking job la..
In the end I found two more agents. Now I have four in total. If I do not get a job within a week's time, I think I can just resign my fate to the incompetence of the head-hunting industry and start flipping the papers.
