Open Season..
"Open Season". Open for speculation.
Somehow this show managed to work its way into my movie list. Besides sharing similar scenes with "Over the Hedge", it teaches us a lesson in environmentalism as well.
Adopting farcical humour as the core literary technique, we can see the animals' protest towards hunting. Im not sure about deforestation in this film but its about time someone, or in this case something, woke us up to the immoralities of hunting. Should rampant poaching persist, animal cartoons and documentaries will find themselves in the museum archives someday.
Anyway I wonder if I should catch this movie. Or Happy Feet instead. It is after all rare to see penguins tap dance and sing like a choir. But it is also uncommon to see skunks mid-air spamming their 'fragrance' and squirrel colonies throwing acorns at trespassers.
Since "open Season" resembles "over the Hedge" with the animal teamwork and all, can I assume it to be as good as the latter, deserving 4-star for a cartoon?
What about Happy Feet? Do both deserve my viewership instead of making a hard choice over them?
I will let my wallet decide. Take yr pick...

Hehe.. normally animations don't really interest me.. but there are few exceptionals like Finding Nemo, Brother Bear, Toy Story, Monsters Inc.. And I'll definitely catch Happy Feet instead of Open Season since it's related to music and therefore closer to heart. :)

Eh didn't you once say that you don't watch cartoons 'cause they're short and hence not worth spending money on? Haha. Sorry if I remembered wrongly.
I think Happy Feet looks quite rubbish, but I've only seen the 'switch off your handphone' public announcement service thingy. Even then the penguins didn't look very cute leh. I still like the penguins from Madagascar the most. :D
Can't wait for Sat! Haha I'm having lunch with you immediately after my CLT paper. :D So fun right. I think so too.
